The University of Sao Paulo (Portuguese: Universidade de Sao Paulo, USP) is a public university in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. It is the largest Brazilian university and the country's most prestigious educational institution, the best university in Ibero-America, and holds a high reputation among world universities. According to reports by the Ministry of Science and Technology, more than 25% of scientific papers published by Brazilian researchers in high quality conferences and journals are produced at the University of Sao Paulo.
USP is one of the largest institutions of higher education in Latin America, with approximately 90,000 enrolled students. It has eleven campuses, four of them in Sao Paulo (the main campus is called Campus Armando de Salles Oliveira, with an area of 7,443,770 square meters). The other campuses are in the cities of Bauru, Lorena, Piracicaba, Pirassununga, Ribeirao Preto and two in Sao Carlos. USP is involved in teaching, research and university extension in all areas of knowledge.

SIR World Report 2013 from SCImago Institutions Rankings classified the university in the 12th place in the world (11th in 2012). In 2012, according to the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), the University of Sao Paulo is the best university in Ibero-America and 28th university in the world. According to ARWU, USP was classified in the first place, regarding the number of doctorates awarded during 2011. Mines ParisTech ranked USP in 42nd place. Ranking Web of Universities 2013 classified USP in the 31st place. USP is ranked among the top 70 universities in the world, in the Ranking "Top Universities by Reputation 2013" published by Times Higher Education. NTU Ranking classified the university in the 53rd place. According to the 2013 Academic Ranking of World Universities, USP is placed in the group of the 101 / 151 top world universities. According to the 2013 CWTS Leiden Ranking the University of Sao Paulo is placed in the position 12th at the world. In the 2013 QS World University Rankings University of Sao Paulo ranked 127th (academic reputation 51st) and is the best classified in the specific ranking of Latin America's universities. In 2012, the University of Sao Paulo is the first Ibero-American institution in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings's top-200 (Position 158 in the World).
What do I do here?
I am a barchelor student of Information Technology at University of Sao Paulo. My expected graduation is in May 2016. Besides the regular course I was also part of the Junior Enterprise Company of the University. The focuses of this course are the systems which are responsibles not just for manage important company's information, but also to possibilitate the taking of decisions that can garantee the sucess and longevity of the business. This course also provides a good notion of Mathematics and Computing, mainly of programming techiniques and development's methodologies for information systems. Besides it the respective major gives a strong perspective about business, dynamic organization view and basic knowledge of law and entrepreneurship.
